Alfonso’s attraction to lawn care began at a young age. As a toddler, he could be found outside walking behind his great-grandmother’s lawn service provider with gloves hanging out of his back pocket.

As he grew a little older, his grandmother would leave a few strips of her lawn for him to mow after she picked him up from school. Eventually, that turned into Alfonso mowing the entire lawn.

Soon after, Alfonso was old enough to tag along with his great-grandmother’s lawn service provider during the summer months and made a few extra bucks.

Things changed drastically once Alfonso reached the age of 16. He was now legal to drive. Alfonso started with buying old equipment from his great-grandmother’s lawn care provider and repairing them to working order. Things started fairly slow with him just servicing his own lawn and other family member’s lawns.

His first account came from a neighbor of his grandmother’s that always saw him cutting her lawn and were in need of someone temporary while they repaired their mower. This soon turned into a permanent account. From there, Alfonso gained more business from pure word of mouth. He began purchasing brand new commercial equipment instead of buying used from a pawn shop.

Things were going well for the young entrepreneur, but he was becoming an adult and had been offered the opportunity to attend at the University of Central Florida. Alfonso had a decision to make. He made the decision to part ways with the business and pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Alfonso attended at the University of Central Florida for mechanical engineering. In that time, he also worked for several companies. His first job was a lube technician at Valvoline Instant Oil Change which he made his way up to a senior technician.

From there, he went on to accept a position at UPS working nights as a package handler. Within this time, his time with Valvoline had run its course and he moved on to work for Tires Plus as a maintenance technician. One night while loading trucks, Alfonso was offered a promotion to work in the industrial engineering department for UPS part time.

Alfonso accepted and continued working in this position for nearly three years. While at Tires Plus, he also worked his way up to a “C” level technician. In August 2020, Alfonso was offered a full-time position at UPS as a plant engineer. He accepted and dismissed his employment with Tires Plus.

Currently, Alfonso is still employed by UPS as a plant engineer. He has also had two wonderful daughters along the way.

Unfortunately, Alfonso's life hasn’t been a complete fairytale. In February 2023 his mother passed away. She battled cancer since his senior year in high school in 2014 and had her ups and downs along the way. Alfonso thought for a while about what he could do that would make his mother proud. He thought back to a time when his mother, sister and himself were in the car heading home from McDonalds. His mother asked him, “Fonso, what do you want to be when you grow up?” Alfonso looked out the window and up at a tractor trailer and said, “I want to own and operate my own business.” His mother looked back at him and said, “Well, you’re more than capable of that and more. I’ll help you as much as I can.” With this memory, Superior Image was born.

Superior Image is currently owned and operated by Alfonso with the expectation to eventually operate nationwide.
